Teams from Alstom Thermal Products in Baden, Switzerland and Thermal Services in La Courneuve, France have finished a massive data migration project, leading to substantial savings in time and money. Data from the GEODE system, a legacy Thermal Services product data management tool for industrial machines, was moved into the P3DM APC-RPDM (Alstom Power Component - Real Product Data Management) system. The data are used for ordering production, construction and service engineering of Alstom Power products.

Working across business boundaries and language borders, the teams accomplished the project within seven months, including a rigorous two months of testing. As a result, costs have been slashed, since there are no more duplicate systems, and time is saved, as data and information searches are now simplified.
